New Teacher in Room 1
Date: 1 July 2010
It is with great pleasure that I write to inform you that we have employed Maree Hawtin-Morrow as the new member of our teaching team in Room 1 in a part time role at the commencement of Term 3 2010. Some families may remember Maree from last year, when she completed a student teaching practice with us in Room 1. Some may also know her through music groups she has facilitated in the community due to her interest and expertise in music. Maree is currently studying toward a Diploma of Teaching (ECE) through Canterbury University and will complete her 3 years of study at the end of this year. Maree is a mother of two children and has been working part time at Rosy Cheeks Early Learning Centre prior to joining our team. Maree will work alongside Danielle and Catherine on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning, whilst I will continue to work in the classroom on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Maree is looking forward to working at the Courtyard and as she has already spent time in our preschool as a student with some of the team we feel we already know her.
New Teacher in Room 1
Date: 24 May 2010
It is with great pleasure that I write to inform you that we have employed Catherine Doody as the new member of our teaching team in Room 1 commencing Thursday 3 June 2010. Catherine qualified at the end of 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Canterbury and a Diploma of Teaching (ECE) from AUT (Auckland) at the end of 2009. Catherine has been working at Waipuna Early Childhood Centre and now joins our team at the Courtyard. Catherine is intending to move to Auckland at the beginning of 2011, so while Catherine will be with us for a short time she is very enthusiastic about working at the Courtyard and working as part of our close community, and we in turn are looking forward to having her with us, as part of the team. Catherine will work as a Teacher in Room 1, five mornings alongside Danielle and myself and will also work alongside Danielle and Debbie in the Extended/Full Day Class in the first instance and also alongside Paula and Helen in the afternoon class when required. Please feel free to introduce yourself to Catherine and make her feel welcome.
